4 Counties Report - Lancaster GC 2019.

Lancashire hosted this year's tournament at the very prestigious Lancaster Golf Club. We experienced some very dry sunny weather if not rather cold.
Our Wednesday morning game was against the current holders of the trophy Lancashire. We struggled in our first 3 matches losing all three by 4 hole margins. However our remaining 4 players performed a fight back with a win for Luke Blocksidge & a half for Jack Edwards.The other 2 games both went to the 18th where we narrowly missed out on achieving 2 halved games. So we lost 5.5 pts - 1.5 pts which I felt flattered our opponents.

Wed pm we played Notts in a real tight game finishing 3.5 pts - 3.5 pts. Wins for Danial Haycocks, Luke Blocksidge & Rory McDonald O'Brien with a half for Morgan Radziejowski which again could easily have been a win for S & H.

Thurs am we played Cheshire in our final game which again was halved 3.5 pts each. Wins for Luke Blocksidge, Daniel Haycocks & Tom Mansell. A gritty half point from Tom Welch winning the 18th to achieve his half point. Again with another game going to the 18th we could easily have been the victors.
Overall we came 3rd with Cheshire Runners up & a clean sweep of victories gave Lancashire the title for the 4th consecutive year.

Special mention to Luke Blocksidge winning all his 3 games which was fantastic & Daniel Haycocks winning 2 games.

Our quest for another tournament win goes on, 2005 our last win.

We look forward to next years 4 Counties at Eaton GC nr Chester hosted by Cheshire.
