Shopshire & Herefordshire’s juniors face one of the highlights of their season in April when they host the Four Counties at Shifnal.
S&H will pit their wits against Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire in the high-calibre annual under 18 event.
The hosts will be led by new junior captain Jordan Evans, from Hawkstone Park, with the rest of the team comprising Joe Blunden (Wrekin), Owen Reynolds, Dani Hoof (both Lilleshall Hall), Matthew Jones, Tom Matthews (both Oswestry), Liam Williams and Cameron Probert (both Burghill Valley).
Chairman of S&H Junior Golf Charles Sievewright said: “It’s always a great tournament and we are very much looking forward to hosting it at Shifnal.
“The standard is always exceptionally high and the fact we have only won the tournament five times in 44 years tells you how tough it is.
“But I know the lads will give their all and, in matchplay, anything can happen.”
The Four Counties is a round-robin tournament with each match decided over seven singles scratch matchplay games.
Two matches will be played on Wednesday and one on Thursday with the action starting at 8.30am on both days. Entry is free and spectators are welcome and encouraged to.
Blunden will go into the event in high spirits after winning the first junior event of the year, the Spring Cup, at Shifnal with a 36-hole total of 148.
