In very difficult conditions, Pete Locket (Burghill Valley) won the Burdass Trophy, held at The Shropshire yesterday, with a 36 hole total of 149. Pete headed up a 1-2-3 for Burghill Valley with Liam Williams claiming 2nd on countback from Kris Jones, 2 shots back on 151.
Kris Jones had held the morning lead with a 75, from Harry Lines (76) and numerous others on 77, including the eventual champion. Pete claimed victory with a 2nd round 72, including a superb up and down from the greenside water hazard on the last hole.
Best round of the day, and the only round under par, went to Cameron Dhir with an excellent 70 in the afternoon.
